This spell causes the caster to build up an electrical charge worth 1d10 damage per level. This charge is released when the caster touches (hits in combat, or otherwise lays a hand on) a victim. The energy may be discharged without an attack by the caster if he or she touches a grounded metal object, or places a hand on the ground or floor. Armor does not protect against this damage, but electrical or lightning protection does.
